Course Description:
Join your public procurement peers in NASPO’s first sprint-style course. Learn to identify and implement supplier management practices throughout the procurement cycle through one week of educational content and discussion, culminating in a one-and-a-half-hour live webinar.
Suggested Audience: Procurement professionals of any level interested in understanding supplier management concepts and their application within the procurement office.
Overall Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
1. Identify what supplier management is and where it comes into play in the procurement process, including practices that may already exist in your office.
2. Discuss ways to implement new supplier management practices.
3.Identify the benefits of supplier management.
Attendance Requirements
Participation in this course requires active discussion and participation in all elements and activities as outlined in the weekly schedule above.
Weekly assignments and community discussions:
• Learners must complete all weekly assignments (as outlined above) to receive completion credit.
• Responses to instructor questions in the community based on assigned readings should be thoughtful and a meaningful length.
Course Structure:
This is a sprint-style web-based training (WBT) facilitated by an instructor. Participants will complete an online portion of the course each day Monday through Thursday, including participation via Discussion Board posts, which are required in order to complete the course. In conjunction with the online portions of the course, there will be a webinar on Friday at 12 PM EST.

- Access to Procurement U LMS
- Visit the Supplier Management in Public Procurement Community to engage in discussion with other participants.
- Ability to play and listen to audio through computer speakers or headphones as well as video capabilities.
