Director Biography
Sherri Maxwell is Colorado’s Chief Procurement Officer, a role she has held since February 2020. She is responsible for oversight of the procurement (purchasing and contracts) of goods and services under the procurement code by State agencies and Institutions of Higher Education, and provides guidance on all aspects of their procurement-related activities. She oversees the Procurement Programs Team, State Price Agreement Team, and the Central Contracts Unit at the State Purchasing and Contracts Office (SPCO).
Sherri has 20+ years of purchasing and contracting experience at the State and local government levels, K-12 education, and the private sector. She has served in a number of leadership roles and on boards locally and nationally, including for NASPO, Colorado’s Executive Procurement Advisory Council, and the Rocky Mountain Governmental Purchasing Association.
