Negotiations 104: Introduction to Negotiations
Procurement U is excited to announce the launch of the Introduction to Negotiations course. This web-based, self-paced course will define negotiations and explore its use within state procurement. You can access this course through the Procurement U Online Learning Management System (OLMS).

$35 Standard Rate. $20 Discounted Rate
Discounted rates are available to NASPO members (state, associate, life and honorary) and all other state government employees, including employees of public, nonprofit universities. All other learners (including federal, county, and city government employees) will pay the standard course rate.
Introduction to Negotiations will provide participants with the fundamental concepts of the negotiation process as it pertains to state procurement. Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:
Explain the purpose and importance of negotiations within state procurement
Describe the goals of negotiation
Discuss the who, when, where and how of negotiation
Outline the negotiation process from start to finish
Explain what happens in each step of the negotiation process

Procurement U Holds Inaugural Academic Forum
In March 2017, NASPO held the inaugural Academic Forum, co-hosted by our academic partner, Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. The forum was created in an effort to bridge the gap between our state members and academic partners. Five academic partners and over 35 states were represented at this event that brought together state members, academics and current university students. The forum will become an annual event, which will rotate in location and be hosted by our academic partners.
The 2018 Academic Forum will be held in the spring at Michigan State University, in Lansing, Michigan. More details coming soon!
