Listserv - General Information
The NASPO Listserv is gaining popularity--don't miss out!

There is now a way to easily communicate electronically communicate with fellow NASPO members who have Internet access. NASPO now has a listserv up and running. A listserv is a single Internet address to which you can send electronic mail that in turn will be distributed to those who have "subscribed" to the listserv. The listserv can be used in place of the 50-state faxes and as a continuous, on-line "What's Your Problem" forum where members can ask questions, exchange information, and share solutions virtually instantaneously. Here's how it works:

  1. To subscribe to the NASPO listserv, send e-mail to: naspo2@listserv.AMRms.com and type "subscribe" in the body of the message. Your message will then be forwarded to the NASPO staff, who will verify you are an eligible NASPO member and add you to the list. There is no charge to subscribe to the listserv. (You may also contact the NASPO staff who will subscribe you. All that is needed is your e-mail address).
  2. Once subscribed, you can send a message to the list by sending an e-mail to "naspo2@listserv.AMRms.com" Type the subject and text of your message as you would with any other e-mail. To avoid duplicate inquiries, staff will search the Listserv Archives and the NASPO Survey Book to see if the information is already available. The message can then be broadcast to all members who have subscribed to the listserv. You'll receive listserv messages in your Internet "inbox" just like any other e-mail.
  3. When replying to a message on the listserv, remember that “reply” sends your message to the NASPO staff moderating the listserv. It will be forwarded to the Listserv archive on the website. Responses can be viewed through the Members Only section or going directly to: http://listserv.AMRms.com/archives/naspo.html.

Three simple steps! That's all it takes to start communicating on-line and extending the rapport you experience at conferences all year long.

Please take a moment to subscribe. The success of the listserv depends not only on the quality of messages posted but on the number of state directors participating. The more members that we have subscribe, the better the information flow will be.

Listserv Policy

A listserv subscriber should be a NASPO state director or be designated by a NASPO member. There can be up to 100 members subscribed to the listserv.

Listserv subscribers may use the listserv as a forum to ask procurement-related questions or to make announcements and get responses back from NASPO listserv subscribers.

In an effort to limit the amount of mail that subscribers receive, responses to inquiries go only to the sender of the inquiry and to the NASPO staff person monitoring the listserv. Responses to the questions will be compiled regularly by the NASPO staff and posted in the Members Only section of the NASPO web site at www.naspo.org.

Subscribers who post a frequently-asked question to the listserv will be referred to the Members Only section, or staff will address the question individually. Before posting a question on the listserv, subscribers are encouraged to review the question and answer compilation on the web site.

Please remember that this is a private list, for the use of NASPO state directors and (via archived responses) for staff they designate. To preserve confidentiality and open communication within the NASPO community, please do not forward or copy these e-mails (or their content) to vendors or any other unauthorized party.

Any questions or concerns about the NASPO listserv policies and procedures should be addressed to the NASPO staff.
