NASPO Guide to IT Procurement

Section 1: Introduction

IT Procurement Work Group
Purpose: Develop a set of recommended model terms and conditions for use in IT goods and services procurements. Research the causes of IT Procurement failures, best practices for these procurements and recommendations from the private sector where possible. The work of this Task Force will assist state technology procurement officials and their staff to guide them as they develop standards, product specifications and policies for the procurement of IT goods and services.

This Resource Guide is intended to be an overview of resources related to state IT procurement issues. A few industry links are noted in the Guide as it is important to be aware of the industry's perspective on IT issues.
